Integration of technology in teaching. Benefits and disadvantages.

 Integration of technology in teaching has become increasingly important in today's education system. Technology can enhance teaching and learning by providing new tools for teachers to engage with students and improve their understanding of concepts. Here are some ways in which technology can be integrated into teaching:

  1. Interactive whiteboards: Interactive whiteboards allow teachers to create dynamic presentations and engage students in learning. They can display multimedia content such as videos, images, and interactive simulations that can be manipulated by students.
  2. Online learning platforms: Online learning platforms provide teachers with a variety of resources to deliver instruction, including digital textbooks, educational videos, and interactive activities. Students can access these resources from anywhere, and teachers can monitor their progress and provide feedback.
  3. Learning management systems: Learning management systems provide a centralized platform for managing course content, assignments, and grades. They also enable collaboration among students and facilitate communication between students and teachers.
  4. Mobile devices: Mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets provide students with anytime, anywhere access to learning resources. They can also be used for collaboration, research, and project-based learning.
  5. Gamification: Gamification can be used to make learning more engaging and fun. Teachers can incorporate game elements such as points, badges, and leaderboards into their lessons to motivate students and make learning more enjoyable.

When integrating technology into teaching, it is important to keep in mind that technology should be used as a tool to enhance learning, not replace it. Teachers should also be mindful of the digital divide and ensure that all students have access to the technology needed to participate in online learning.

Apart of benefits there are also some disadvantages :

  1. Over-reliance on technology: Over-reliance on technology can lead to students and teachers becoming dependent on it, which can affect their ability to learn and teach in traditional ways.

2. Distractions and disruptions: Technology can also be a source of distraction for students, with social media, games, and other non-educational content readily available on the internet. It can also be a source of technical disruptions, such as poor connectivity, device malfunction, and software bugs.

4. Inequality and exclusion: Not all students have equal access to technology due to financial, geographical, or social barriers. This digital divide can create inequality and exclusion, depriving some students of the benefits of technology in education.


In conclusion, integrating technology in teaching can be beneficial and disadvantageous depending on how it is used. Teachers should use technology as a tool to enhance learning and not as a replacement for traditional teaching methods. They should also be mindful of the potential drawbacks and take measures to address them.

Final report

In this report I will give my opinions, reflections and the feelings I have experienced during this course. I will share my thoughts about different assignments that we have done, also about those assignments that I personally had difficulties during the process.  The assignments were as entertaining as difficult but despite that we have learned something valuable that we will need in the near future.
